Deborah Slominski

Deborah Slominski went to her eternity on December 12, 2025.

She was born September 9, 1954, the daughter of Evelyn (Durkin) Paschke and the late Walter Paschke. Deb grew up on the family farm near Forest River and attended school there. She graduated high school at Mount Saint Benedict Academy in Crookston, MN. She married her friend David Slominski. She received her Elementary and Special Education Master’s Degree from UND. She was an advocate for students with disabilities during her teaching career. She truly enjoyed all the students she taught through the years.

Deb was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and Altar Society, the Franciscans of Mary Immaculate Third Order, the Degree of Honor, Minto Lodge and volunteered on the Human Rights committee at LSTC in Grafton. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed baking, cooking, reading, painting, sewing and gardening. She liked to be busy and challenge her mind. She loved being outdoors and travelling with family to see her sister in South Dakota.

Deb is survived by her children: Anne (Dale) Gerszewski, Genevieve Slominski, Carl Slominski and Aaron Slominski; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren; her mother, Evelyn; sisters: Barbara (Neil) Munro, Janet (Mike) LaBonte; brothers: Gregory (Tina) Paschke, John (Patty) Paschke, Charles (Nicola) Paschke, Patrick (Susan) Paschke and Jeremy (Linda) Paschke. Several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins survive. She was preceded in death by her husband David, her father Walter and baby brother Patrick.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 19, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Minto, ND. Visitation will be Friday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Ardoch, in the spring. Memorials can be donated to St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the St. Gianna Maternity Home.
