Deanna Jane Hogan

Deanna Jane Hogan (nee Eklund), 70 of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away on December 30, 2024.  She was born on July 7, 1954, in Greenbush, Minnesota, to Robert and Dorothy Eklund.  Deanna grew up in Park River, North Dakota.

Deanna was a dedicated registered nurse, known for her compassion and commitment to her patients.  She was also a talented cook and a skilled ceramic artist, bringing joy and creativity to those around her.  Deanna proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 11 years, from 1978 to 1989.

Deanna married her beloved husband, John L. Hogan III, on January 18, 1986.  She is survived by her husband, her sisters, Lorie Clemetson and Susan Gentry, her mother-in-law, Shirley A. Hogan, sister -in-law, Christine Lovejoy, brothers-in-law, Patrick Hogan and Dennis M. Hogan, aunts, Vera Falk and Jan Carr-Herseth, uncle, Floyd Eklund and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Deanna was a lover of animals, especially cats.  She is survived by her beloved pets, Skittles and Mr. Jitters.  Predeceasing her were her parents, brother, Marco Eklund, father-in-law, John (Bud) Hogan, Jr. and several aunts and uncles.

Deanna loved to travel.  She and John explored the world together, both during her time in the Army and on vacations.  They visited England, France, Belgium, Holland, Spain, Germany, Morocco and spent many vacations all over Mexico.

A celebration of life was held in Cape Coral on January 25, 2025 and a memorial service will be held at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Park River, ND on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 3:00 P.M.  Inurnment will follow the memorial service at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Park River.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a food pantry of your choosing.
