David J. Niemann, age 37 of Crystal, ND passed away on Monday, April 27, 2009 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND. David John Niemann was born June 29, 1971 in Cavalier, ND the son of Donna (Lunde) and the late Albert E. Niemann.
He attended and graduated from Valley Public School. He then attended University of Mary College in Bismarck, ND. While attending University of Mary David played football for two years. David was united in marriage to Jacquelyn "Jaci" Hanson on August 6, 1993. The couple lived in Bismarck where David worked for the State Auditor's Office. In 1996 the couple moved to Grafton where David worked for the Auditor's Office. David began working for Polar Telephone Communications where he served as the Chief Financial Officer from August 1996 to the present date. They then moved to Crystal in 1997.
David loved spending time with his family.
Sporting events were something they all enjoyed together. David lived a strong Christian life and devoted endless hours to others.
David was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, served as the Treasurer at St. John's Lutheran Church, was a member of the Valley School Board, served as the clerk of the township board, and served as the city auditor.
He is survived by his wife Jacquelyn "Jaci"
(Hanson) Niemann, Crystal, ND; children: Abby Niemann, age 14, Jacob Niemann, age 11, Matthew Niemann, age 9 and Marcus Niemann, age 9 all of Crystal, ND; mother Donna Niemann, St. Thomas, ND; brother-in-law Harold Unke, Crookston, ND; siblings: Lynn (Annette) Niemann, Crystal, ND; Nancy (Dennis) Rindy, Portland, ND; Lyle (Marlene) Niemann, Grafton, ND; parents-in-law David and Elizabeth Hanson, St. Thomas, ND; brothers-in-law: Jon (Alicia) Hanson, Horace, ND and Mike (Mandy) Hanson, Grafton, ND. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Albert E. Niemann and his sister Ramona Unke.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Valley Public School Gymnasium in Crystal, ND. Visittion will be Wednesday from 5-7:30 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:30 P.M. at the St. John's Lutheran Church of rural Cyrstal. Friends may call at the school on Thursday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Crystal.
The Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton is in charge of the arrangements.
