David A. Mclean

David A. McLean, age 74 of rural Adams, died Sunday, June 05, 2011 at his home near Adams. David Allan McLean was born December 21, 1936 in Grafton, ND the son of the late Melvin and Martha (Olson) McLean. He graduated from Adams High School. Following his education he served in the United States Army from 1955-1957. Following his discharge he returned home and farmed with his father. David was united in marriage to Lois Jorgenson on November 12, 1961. There were six children born to this union; Kristi, Koni, Steven, Rachel, Shawn and Nancy. The couple lived and farmed near Adams. In 1991, David started working as a rural mail carrier for the US Postal Service. He retired in the fall of 2010. He was a member of the Mountain Lutheran Church of Adams, the Adams American Legion Post, served as president of the Adams School Board and served on the elevator board. He is survived by his children: Koni McLean, Wenatchee, WA; Kristi (Matthew) Jones, Atlanta, GA; Rachel McBrearty, Wenatchee, WA; Steven (Susan) McLean, Mayville, MI; Nancy (Rick) Huhta, Grafton, ND; and Shawn McLean, North Branch, MI; 12 grandchildren and two sisters: Diane (Lyle) Hillman and Yvonne (Marlow) Strand, both of Brainerd, MN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois on December 31, 2007 and a sister Marilyn Borgeson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Adams Mountain Lutheran Church, Adams, ND. Visitation will be Friday 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may call at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service.
