Dave A Boyer

Dave A. Boyer (Muggs) lost his battle with cancer on February 8, 2019, at his home in Grafton with his wife Norma by his side.

Dave A. Boyer was born April 3, 1946 to Alex and Christine Boyer in Belcourt, ND.

Dave was raised in the Belcourt, ND area. Dave was drafted into the Army June 1967 and served until June of 1969. He served in the National Guard after discharge from the Army.

Dave and Norma married September 8, 1972. Dave worked for Chester Motor Ford garage for 20 years in Chester, Montana. Dave and Norma moved to Belcourt, ND in 1993. Dave worked for 3 years at Bill Nichol Ford in Rolla. He was the mechanics instructor for the Belcourt College mechanics students at the Bill Nichol Ford garage.

He liked carpentry and with the help of his father-in-law, Cliff and mother-in-law, Lois, he and Norma built their own garage and home. He took pride in Dave & Norma’s Auto Repair Shop in Belcourt, ND.

Dave and Norma moved to Grafton in November 2015 and took to remodeling their home as soon as they moved in.

David is survived by his wife of 46 years, Norma; mother-in-law: Lois Harden; sister-in-laws: Karen Boyer and Jan Ritchotte, Gail and Rollye Nation, Bev and Larry Huen, Carla and Terry Summerland; brother-in-law: Kemper and Terry Harden, nieces and nephews: Shelley (Dan) Uran, Sharyl (George) Frederick, Louis (Jackie) Decoteau, Rodney (Jaqueline) Decoteau, Allison (Stuart) Medrud, Louise Lopez, Roxanne Jones, Naomi Farell (Jerry Karausz), Samantha Hatfield (Jordan Skylers), John (Junior) Boyer, Bonnie Schmidt, Lora (Larry) Stewart, David Earl  Rye, Jr., Kris Castle.  Many great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Josephine Ritchotte DeCoteau, Helen Boyer Rye, brothers: Louis Ritchotte, John Boyer, 2 nieces and 3 nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Grafton Armory on Saturday, March 23 from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M.
