Darlene M. Carlson

Darlene M. Carlson, age 69 of Park River, ND passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017 at First Care Health Center of Park River, ND.

Darlene Margaret Houser was born June 14, 1948 in Grafton, ND the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Pic) Houser. She grew up and attended schools in Park River, graduating in 1967.

Following her education she started working at the Park River Potato Company. She also worked at Borden’s Potato in Grafton, ND, the Lyric Theater and Dug Out Bar in Park River. Darlene was united in marriage to Cledith Carlson on April 24, 1970 in Park River. The couple made their home in Park River. After their daughter Priscilla was born, Darlene spent her time caring for Priscilla until she left home.

Darlene was a member St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She loved to play cards, especially Pinochle, and watching TV.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Cledith, Park River, ND; her son, Dion (Miyako) Carlson, Park River, ND; her three grandchildren: Cordell, Trent and Shantel Carlson, her mother, Margaret Houser, Park River, ND and brother, Ron (Linda) Houser, Valley City, ND. Darlene was preceded in death by her father, daughter Priscilla on May 25, 2017 and her grandparents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Park River. Visitation will be Thursday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Park River, ND.
