Daniel J Houdek

Daniel J. Houdek, age 80 of Park River, ND passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the First Care Health Center of Park River.

Daniel Joseph Houdek was born February 28, 1938 in Prairie Centre Township of Walsh County, ND the son of the late Frank and Helen (Schanilec) Houdek. He attended school in Veseleyville. Following his education he farmed near Veseleyville for 43 years. He later worked for area farmers until partially retiring in 2000.

He was a member of the St. Luke’s Catholic Church of Veseleyville. He has been a member of the church choir since the age 16. He was a member of the Park River Knights of Columbus, serving as Past Grand Knight. He served on the Board of Directors of the Minto Farmers Elevator and the Minto Rural Fire Protection District and also served as clerk of the Prairie Centre Township.

Daniel is survived by his sister, Dorothy Narlock, Grand Forks, ND and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Verner, Raymond and Silvin.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 30, 2018 at 1:00 PM at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Veseleyville, ND. Visitation will be Monday from 11:30 until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be at St. Luke’s Catholic Cemetery.
