Dan Dale Billings, age 68 of Grafton, ND passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Dan Dale Billings was born September 29, 1949 to George and Rose (Bella Vance) Billings in Killarney, MB Canada. He graduated from Rock Lake High School. On June 29, 1973 Dan married Ruth Boldt and they had two boys. Dan served in the National Guard for six years. While living in Cando, he was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department, Ambulance and coached hockey.

Besides his family, agriculture was Dan’s passion. He worked for the North Dakota State Seed Department as an inspector. After moving to Grafton, Dan worked tirelessly taking care of potatoe’s for Rick Johnston, Paul Suda and most recently M.V. Collette farms. He loved planting, harvesting and looking after the warehouses.

Dan is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ruth, his children: Jeremy (Kim) Billings, Buxton, ND and Chris (Sarah) Billings, Harvey, ND; his grandchildren: Melanie and Ryan; sisters-in-law: Karen (John), Nancy and Julie (Matt) and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and father and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Evelyn Boldt.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Grafton Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Wednesday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan. Military rites will be provided by the Grafton American Legion Post and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
