Dale Norvald Narveson

Dale Norvald Narveson, age 72 of Grafton, ND passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton. Dale Norvald Narveson was born June 7, 1943 in Mount Clemens, MI, the son of the late Norvald and Jane (Lambert) Narveson. He grew up in Mount Clemens and Grafton. He graduated from Grafton High School in 1961 and received a degree in computer science from the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND. He was united in marriage to Rose M. Lorenzen of St. Thomas, ND on March 26, 1966 in Grafton. They lived in St. Thomas for a short time following their marriage before settling in Grafton. Dale worked for various employers including Narveson Insurance Agency, Reylecks, Vally Jo Foods, Leonard Motel, and Grafton Square. After retiring, he enjoyed volunteering for various organizations including Hospice of Red River Valley and Lutheran Sunset Home. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. He enjoyed socializing with and teasing friends, playing cards, watching movies, creating latch hook pieces, and spoiling his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children: Allan (Kim) Narveson, Holly Springs, NC, Brett (Bethany) Narveson, Grafton, ND, Jodi (Tom) LaHaise, Grafton, ND, Wanda Gornowicz (fiancé Wayne Moga, daughter Isabel), Crookston, MN, grandchildren: Derek, Britani, Dylan, Briana, Brooke, Brandi, Jordan (fiancé Courtney Harrington) , Shyanne, Lizzy, Jayden, Clara, great granddaughter Adeline, brother: Mark (fiancé Weiping Cai). He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rose M. Narveson, and brother Bernard. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00-7:00P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the St. John's Catholic Church, Lutheran Sunset Home, or a charity of your choice.
