Daisy Schrum, age 85 of Grafton, ND passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton, ND.
Daisy Warnke was born November 6, 1931 in Emerado, ND, the daughter of the late Frank and Sarah (McDonald) Warnke. She grew up at attended school there. Following her education, she worked at the Keg Drive Inn in Grand Forks. She was united in marriage to Fred Schrum on January 14, 1949 in Grand Forks. The couple lived in South Dakota for a time, where Fred worked for Bradbury Construction. They moved to Grafton in 1958 where she began working at Borden’s Potato Plant and worked harvest for Francis Phelan Farms. She later worked as a cook at the Unity Hospital of Grafton for over 25 years, retiring in 2004.
She was a member of Zion English Lutheran Church, Grafton. She was an avid bowler and a member of the WIDC Women’s Bowlers and coached Junior Bowling in Grafton for many years. She also loved to spend time at the lake.
Daisy is survived by her children: Linda Lund, Grand Forks, ND, Deborah James, Oman, Laurie Sattler, East Grand Forks, MN, Albert Schrum, Park River, ND and Mike Schrum, Mountain, ND; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughters: Mary and Shirley, sons: Paul and David, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Grafton City Cemetery.
