Cynthia Kay Thompson

Cynthia “Cindy” Kay Thompson, 65, of Apex, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, December 16, 2022.

Cynthia Kay Thompson was born February 10, 1957, in Park River, ND, the daughter of Lorraine Alice (Johnson) Thompson and the late Emmett “Slim” Thompson.  After graduating with a degree as a LPN from North Dakota State School of Science, she went on to serve many years as an excellent nurse and caregiver. Her passion for taking care of people was always important to her throughout her life. Cindy was best known for her large personality and had a laugh that was contagious and infectious to anyone around her.

She is survived by her three children, David Coley of Hebron, KY; Melissa Coley of Yorktown, TX;  and Stephen Coley of Orange County, NC; mother, Lorraine Thompson, Park River, ND; siblings: Kristie Thompson of Fargo, ND; Brian (Julie) Thompson of Park River, ND; four grandchildren, Trevor, Alexis, Nicholas, and Arabella.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.  She was preceded in death by her father, Emmett and brother, David Thompson.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Park River, ND.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.  Inurnment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Park River, ND.
