Corinne I. Ramsey, age 95, entered eternal rest on May 21, 2024, surrounded by family at Park River Good Samaritan Center, Park River, ND.
Born March 31, 1929 in Dahlen, North Dakota to Norwegian parents Anna (Ellingson) & Christ Erickson, Corinne became the much younger sister to Arnold. Baptized and confirmed at Dahlen Lutheran Church, she began her faith journey. She enjoyed singing, skating on the community ice rink and graduated Valedictorian of her Dahlen High School Class. Corinne went on to North Dakota State Teachers College in Mayville and taught school in Arvilla, Fordville, and Ramsey Grove. She met Lester Ramsey at a dance and after 2 years dating, they married on June 25th, 1950. Lester was a farmer so they settled in to country life growing potatoes, wheat and cattle along with four healthy children. Corinne worked for many years at Park River Rexall Drug Store in Park River and took on Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church Sunday School Superintendent with 90 children participating in the Christmas Programs. Later she dedicated her time at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Park River, and cared for patients in Hospice, and was awarded volunteer of the year while giving devotions at Good Samaritan Nursing Home. Corinne was known for her baking and generously shared delicious treats. She was a wonderful hostess and loved to entertain family and friends. Corinne’s faith in Jesus was the source of her perseverance and resilience through life’s challenges.
