Clifford L. Lerud

Clifford Lerud, age 88 of Union, ND passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. Clifford L. Lerud was born on January 14, 1924 near Hoople, ND, the son of the late Clarence and Ida (Gjevre) Lerud. He grew up and attended school near Hoople, ND. He was united in marriage to Margaret L. Schuster on November 10, 1945 in Union, ND, where they made their home. Clifford was a self-employed carpenter. He did a lot of building, remodeling, and painting in the Edinburg area. He enjoyed being with his family, camping, working in his shop and mechanic work. Clifford was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Union, ND and the Trinity Lutheran Church of Edinburg, ND; he was in charge of and a member of the Zion Cemetery Association of Union. He is survived by his wife Margaret; children: Bonnie (Lyle) Amundrud, Edinburg, ND; Virgil (Annie) Lerud, Union, ND; grandchildren: Marcus (Marianne) Windingland, Edinburg, ND; Kimberly (Travis) Beck, Minneapolis, MN; great grandchildren: Darin Lee, Lankin, ND; Robyn Lee, Grand Forks, ND; Andy and Ryan Beck, Minneapolis, MN; brothers: William (Kathy) Lerud, Kasota, MN; Richard (Edna) Lerud, Bothell, WA; brother-in-law Larry (Shelli) Schuster, Edinburg, ND; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Carl Randulson and Allen (Harriet) Lerud. Funeral services will be Friday, April 27, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Edinburg, ND. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Edinburg. Friends may also call at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Union, ND.
