Clayton W. Lamont

Clayton W. LaMont, age 78, passed away November 21, 2019 at his home in Grafton, ND.

Clayton was born October 12, 1941 in Grafton, ND.

Clayton served as a volunteer firefighter for a total of 56 years.  He joined the Grafton Volunteer Fire department on February 14, 1963, serving as fire chief from 1975-1978 and again from 1980-1985.  Clayton was proud to be a lifetime member, part of such a wonderful organization.  He also spent many years working at Schumacher’s and in the maintenance department at the Lutheran Sunset Home.

One of Clayton’s many hobbies was fishing.  He and his family would spend many weekends fishing for walleye at their Lake of the Woods cabin in Morson, Ontario.  He also enjoyed deer hunting, gardening, canning and making wooden crafts.

Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Geraldine, great granddaughter Chloe and his sister Beverly.

He is survived by his son, Michael LaMont, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three brothers and his two beloved dogs.

Memorial services will be Friday, December 13, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Fire Department room at the Grafton City Hall.
