Clara Mae Rasmussen

Clara Mae Rasmussen, age 92 of Park River, ND passed away peacefully on Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Center of Park River. Clara Mae Moe was born May 28, 1917 to Ivar and Gunhild Moe. She grew up and attended school in Walsh County. She married Knut Johnson in 1934. They moved to Ringling, MT in 1943. Knut Johnson died May 10, 1952. Clara and her family moved back to Park River. She worked at Larson's Café, the Walsh County Press and cleaned houses for several people in the Park River area. She later did babysitting in her home. She married Harry Rasmussen on July 15, 1956 and he died on August 23, 1978. She is survived by her son Larry (Pam) Johnson, Chandler, AZ; her son-in-law; Willard (Barbara) Stenerson, Langdon, ND; daughter-in-law; Marlene Johnson, Gaston, OR; grandchildren: Alan (Sandie) Stenerson, Palmdale, CA; Jon Johnson and Jay Johnson, Gaston, OR; Jan (Brian) McElroy, Ellensburg, WA; Julie Granle, Gaston, OR; Shiloh (James) Johnson, Mesa, AZ; Jacey Johnson, Gilbert, AZ; great grandchildren: Meagan (Tyler) Reynolds and Zachary Johnson, Carlton, OR; Renae Kearney, Iraq; Ryan Kearney, NC; Michael McElroy, Ellensburg, WA; Erryn Melby, Cornelius, OR; Brandon Granle, Cornelius, OR; Raymond Johnson, Gaston, OR; Alexia Johnson, Gilbert, OR; and Amber Stenerson, Palmdale, CA; great great granddaughter: Madalyn Reynolds, Carlton, OR. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Knut Johnson and Harry Rasmussen, daughter Gloriana Stenerson, son Joel Johnson, grandson Mark Stenerson, granddaughter Karyn Stenerson; brothers and sisters: Knute Moe, Haakon Moe, Thorlief Moe, Gilbert Moe, Inga Detschmann and Thelma Sommerseth. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Park River, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Park River, ND.
