Clara A. Ganyo, age 97 of Grafton, ND passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton.
Clara A. Seeba was born January 5, 1919 in Acton Township of Walsh County, ND the daughter of the late John and Anna (Peters) Seeba. She attended schools in Acton Township. Clara was united in marriage to Clarence Ganyo on January 5, 1937 in Grafton. The couple made their home in Grafton. Clara worked for Marvin’s Jewelry. In the mid- 1960’s she went to work at the Grafton Developmental Center. She retired from there after 15 years of service. Clarence passed away on October 4, 1968. After her retirement she volunteered at the Second Time Around Store.
Clara was a member of the Zion English Lutheran Church and LWML.
She is survived by her children: Duane (Patti) Ganyo, Spokane, WA; LaVerne Heiden, West Fargo, ND; Phyllis Larson, Grafton, ND; Marlene Korynta, Ocala, FL; Lyle (Pam) Ganyo, Fargo, ND; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Kenneth, one sister, three brothers, two half-brothers and a half-sister.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at the Zion English Lutheran Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Tuesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Grafton City Cemetery.
