Clair B. Greicar

Clair B. Greicar, age 54 of Pisek, North Dakota passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.   Clair B. Greicar was born May 17, 1961 in Grafton, ND the son of Louis Benedict and Marie (Zikmund) Greicar. He graduated from Pisek High School in 1979 and attended Lake Region Technical College in Devils Lake for Welding. Upon completing his education he returned to Pisek and started farming with his father and uncle. He also worked for area farmers during beet and potato harvest. In 1996 he took over the farming operation from his father and continued to farm until his death.   Clair was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church of Pisek and served on the cemetery board. He was a member of the Midnight Marketers Grain Club, Eagle Ridge Motorcycle Club and Ridge Runners Snowmobile club of Fordville, and the Pisek Rural Fire Department.   He is survived by his mother, Marie Greicar, Pisek, ND; siblings: Brian (Kate) Greicar, Fargo, ND; Deborah (Tom) Torkelson, Grafton, ND; four nephews and a niece: Eric Torkelson, Andrew Torkelson, Emily Greicar, Evan Torkelson and Robby Greicar, aunts and uncles: Eddie (Camille) Greicar, Fargo, ND; Larry (Mary) Greicar, Grand Forks, ND; Kathy (Lyle) Jelinek, Pisek, ND; Joe (Lorraine) Zikmund, Forest River, ND; Maurice (Deborah) Zikmund, Cando, ND; Lucille (Kevin) Fruhwirth, East Grand Forks, MN; Vicky (Russel) Denault, Fargo, ND. Several cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his father Ben, grandparents, aunt, Maryann (James) Sommer and uncles, Bob Greicar and Jean Greicar.   Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 27, 2015 at 2:00 PM at St. John’s Catholic Church of Pisek. Visitation will be Friday for two hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Pisek, ND.
