Charles L. Slominski, age 79 of Ardoch, ND passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013 near Warsaw. Charles L. Slominski was born March 1, 1934 on the family farm near Ardoch, ND the son of the late Frank and Monica "Minnie" (Mesheski) Slominski. He attended rural school in Ardoch Township. Following his education he started farming with his father. Charles was united in marriage to Mildred "Millie" Spale on November 23, 1968 at the Sacred Heart Church in Minto, ND. The couple lived and farmed on the family farm near Ardoch, ND. Following his retirement, Charles continued to help his nephews, Kenneth and Darrell Slominski on their farm near Warsaw. Charles had a great love of the land and loved to farm. He had a heart of gold and it was often said that he didn't have a mean bone in his body. He had a great love for his grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved to spend time with them. He was known for his great practical jokes. He was a kind man who was quick to help others and never complained. Charles is survived by his wife Millie of Ardoch, ND; children: Randy (Marcia) Slominski, Grafton, ND; Charla (Scott) Peterson, Thompson, ND; Cherie (Lupe Contreras) Slominski, Grafton, ND; eight grandchildren: Bobbie, Brittney, Zach, Troy, Sierra, Savannah, Samantha and McKinzie, his great grandchildren: Athena, Madylin and Joey "Smiley"; his brother, Henry (Yvonne) Slominski, Grand Forks, ND; sisters, Irene (Hilmer) Howe, Marysville, MI and Carol (Tim) Curtin, Centennial CO; step-brother, Clarence (Johanna) Walski, Grand Forks, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Steven, sister, Dorothy Schultz and step-sister Clarice Robinson. Visitation will be Friday, August 30, 2013 from 5-7 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
