Charles Frank Papenfuss

Charles Frank Papenfuss, age 60 of Minot, ND and formerly of Grafton, ND passed away on

Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND from injuries sustained in a motorcycle

accident.

Charles Frank Papenfuss was born November 6, 1959 in Grafton, ND the son of the late Charles

and Mae (Lillico) Papenfuss. He grew up and attended school here. Following his education he

started working at Schumacher and Sons as a Tire Technician. Frank was united in marriage to Carol Jackson on December 20, 1980 in Grafton. During their marriage, they welcomed Chris and Jana and made their home in Grafton.

Frank joined the Grafton Volunteer Fire Department in 1982 and served with them until 2001, earning Lifetime Membership by the North Dakota Firefighters Association in 1996.

While on the fire department he served as Chief and Assistant Chief. He later worked at Marvin

Windows and served as a North Dakota State Fire Marshal.  In 2003 he moved to Minot, ND

where he worked at the Grand Hotel. Frank was currently working for Home Depot in Minot.

Frank was a friend of Bill’s and active in Alcoholics Anonymous throughout his life.  He loved to ride his Harley and spend time with his children and grandchildren, One Day At A Time.

Frank is survived by his special friend, Norma Shearer, Minot, ND; his children: Chris (Rebecca) Papenfuss, West Fargo, ND; Jana (Austin) Theisen, Grand Forks, ND; brother, David (Liz) Papenfuss, Mandan, ND; Kelly (Levi) Nissen, Amy Loos, and grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Memorial services will be Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Grafton Volunteer Fire Department, station 102, 845 W. 12 ^th St. at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be at the fire station for one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at the Grafton City Cemetery, Grafton, ND. Social distancing and face masks are recommended.
