Charles Francis Lunak, age 81 of Grafton passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at his home in Grafton.
Charles Francis Lunak was born October 27, 1935 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the son of the late Charles and Frances (Fischer) Lunak. When he was three years old he moved to the Grafton Developmental Center, later San Haven and then back to the Manvel House in Grafton. When he was 65 years old his sister Barb found him and had a family reunion. From that time on they enjoy their time getting to know each other.
Charles is survived by his sister, Barbara (Robert Buck) Sommerville-Buck, Tacoma, WA; his nephews: Matthew, Christopher and David Sommerville and Brian (Shelley) Buck; great nephews: Jakob and Danny and great niece, Hannah. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Staff of REM for their exceptional care of Charles and for being his family. They would also like to extend their gratitude to their Guardian Angels, Albert and Vicki Trenda. They would drive Charles to Washington every year and also arranged their family reunion.
Memorial Services will be Friday, November 4, 2016 at 1:30 P.M. at the All Faith’s Chapel, Grafton, ND. Visitation will be on Friday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
