Charles M. Fredericksen, age 54 of Bismarck and formerly of Grafton died on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the V.A. Hospital in Fargo. Charles M. Fredericksen was born January 6, 1957 in Cavalier, ND the son of Ralph and Nira (Papenfuss) Fredericksen. He grew up and graduated from Grafton High School in 1975. Following his education he enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1976-1982. From May to August of 1977 he was stationed in Germany. Charles was united in marriage to Kim Hoang in 1977 at Fort Hood, TX. Following his discharge he served in the North Dakota National Guard Reserves for 15 yrs. He was stationed at the Bismarck Guard Center as a radar repairman until 1993 when his health forced him to retire. In his retirement he attended Bismarck State College and was on the Presidential Honor Roll. He is survived by his children: Christina Weaver, Tucson, AZ; Jennifer Fredericksen, Tucson, AZ; Beverly Fredericksen, Fargo, ND; Gregory Fredericksen and Rodney Fredericksen, both of Bismarck, ND; his mother Nira Fredericksen, Mitchell, SD; siblings: Lyle (Donna) Fredericksen, Grafton, ND; LaRae (Doyle) Willis, Mitchell, SD; three grandchildren: Guy Fredericksen, Leilani Andrews and Gaige Fredericksen and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Ralph and brother Rodney. Funeral services will be Monday, February 21, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
