Cathy Jo Johnson

Realizing Cathy could no longer give, God called her home on February 12, 2026.

Cathy Jo Johnson (Henrickson) was born on September 18, 1953 at West Point, NY to Jerley and Mary Ann Henrickson. She grew up in Stephen, MN and attended college at the Medical Institute of Minnesota. Later Cathy moved to Park River, ND, where she began her career as a veterinary technician at the Park River Veterinary Clinic. After marrying David Johnson on July 22, 1978, they built their family of three children. She was committed to working hard in every job she had but most of her career was dedicated to First Care Health Center.

Cathy was an active member of the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church and was passionate about helping others and giving back to the community. She was the type of person who wouldn’t bring just one pan of bars to the potluck, she would bring three, and then stay late to help with the dishes. Cathy enjoyed staying active and the outdoors, walking or biking around Park River and riding horses. Her life was a living example of kindness, compassion, faith, and pure selflessness.

Cathy is survived by her husband David Johnson; son Dee Jay (Shannon) Johnson, daughters Mari (Jamie) Bennington and Kristin (Elibe) Elibe; grandchildren Jaylie (Kyle Snobeck) Woods, Tucker Woods, and Jayce Johnson; siblings Wendy (John) Oistad, Terry (Shannon) Henrickson, Todd (Shirley) Henrickson; Godchildren, extended family and friends.

Please join us in celebrating Cathy’s life on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 with a visitation at 10:00 am, followed by a formal service at 11:00 am at the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 129 Harris Avenue, Park River, ND.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Care Health Center or the Alzheimer’s Association.
