Casmer S Miskavige

February 1, 1927 — January 15, 2016

Casmer S. Miskavige, age 88 of Minto, ND, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016 at the North Dakota VA Hospital of Fargo, ND.

Casmer Miskavige was born February 1, 1927 in Drayton, ND, the son of the late Isadore and Pauline (Jagielski) Miskavige. The family moved to Minto, ND and he grew up and attended school there. He served in the U.S. Army and was an Atomic War Veteran. He served in Japan where he worked on the clean up after the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. After he returned home from the war, he worked in Minneapolis for a time and then returned to Minto and worked as a carpenter and ironworker at the ABM missile sites.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising mink, and gardening.

He is survived by his sister Natalie Wood, CA, and several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Stella Matcha and Isabelle Webster, and brothers: Isadore, Ted and Alvin Miskavige.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Minto. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Military rites will be provided by the Minto American Legion Post #201. Interment will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
