Britt Haslekaas

Britt Haslekaas, age 82 of Grand Forks, ND and formerly of Milton, ND passed away on March 15, 2016 at the Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon, ND.

Britt Ekman was born May 18, 1933 in Göteborg, Sweden the daughter of the late Bertil and Gunhild (Hofren) Ekman. She grew up and attended schools in Sweden. Britt immigrated to the United States in the mid-1950’s and settled in Los Angeles, CA. She was united in marriage to Harlan Haslekaas on Nov. 14, 1959 in L.A. The couple lived and farmed near Milton, North Dakota. Britt worked as a Weight Watchers Lecturer for many years. She also owned and operated an Arts & Craft Boutique at Frost Fire in Walhalla for over 20 years. Harlan passed away on June 3, 2007. Britt moved to Grand Forks in 2011 and in January of 2016 she moved to Maple Manor in Langdon.

She is survived by her children: Hans Haslekaas, Shellsburg, IA; DeLane (Jay) Johnson, Langdon, ND; and David (Jan) Haslekaas, Milton, ND; five grandchildren: Joshua, Christian and Jens Johnson and Hayes and Greta Haslekaas, her sister, Thorgan Poohl, Härnösand, Sweden. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Ingrid.

Graveside services will be Friday, June 17, 2016 at 5:00 PM at the Hitterdal Lutheran Cemetery, rural Milton, ND.
