Brenda L. Nelson

Brenda L. Nelson, age 62 of Adams, ND passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the Palliative Care Unit of MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND. Brenda L. Mondor was born April 14, 1947 in Langdon, ND the daughter of the late Erva and Mary (Syrup) Mondor. She graduated from Wayzata High School. Brenda was married to Kenneth Parent in East Grand Forks, MN in 1966. Two children were born to this union, Albert John (Emily) Parent, Lakota, ND and Sherri Ekren, Grand Forks, ND. Brenda was united in marriage to Clifton Nelson on July 15, 1972 in Adams, ND. Three children were born to this union, Tara, Heather and Janelle. Brenda worked at the Grafton Developmental Center for several years. She later worked at Friendship Incorporated and Welch's Café in Park River. She also worked as a relay route driver for the Grand Forks Herald. She was a member of the Adams Mountain Lutheran Church, Adams, ND and a charter member of the Valley Cruisers Car Club, Minnesota Street Rod Association, North Dakota Street Rod Association and Plymouth Owners Club. Brenda is survived by her husband Clifton, Adams, ND; children: John (Emily) Parent, Lakota, ND; Sherri Ekren, Grand Forks, ND; Tara (Paul) Munoz, Grand Forks, ND; Heather Walker (Mike Linseth) Duluth, MN; Janelle Nelson, Adams, ND; eleven grandchildren; brother Tim (Darlene) Mondor, Young America, MN; sisters: Barb Templin, Norwood, MN; Pam Olson, Victoria, MN; Connie (Jerry) Halvorson , Minneapolis, MN; Mary Jo (Larry) Sund, Norwood, MN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Rick, sister Mary Margaret and granddaughter Elizabeth. Memorial services will be Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Adams Mountain Lutheran Church of Adams, ND. Visitation will be Saturday for one hour prior to the service.
