Boyd Allan Peterson

Boyd A.Peterson, age 77 of Rockville, MN and formerly of Grafton passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the V.A. Medical Center of St. Cloud, MN. Boyd Allan Peterson was born February 21, 1936 in Edinburg, ND the son of the late Peter O. and Astrid (Olson) Peterson. He attended school in Edinburg. Following his education he worked as farm labor in the St. Thomas and Hamilton area. He later worked at the Phillips 66 Gas Station in Grafton. Boyd was united in marriage to Betty Brooks on May 1, 1960 in Hamilton, ND. The couple made their home Grafton where Boyd owned and operated Peterson Fertilizer. He later sold the business and started working as a salesman for Simplot. Boyd retired in 1988 and in 2009 the couple moved to Rockville, MN. Betty passed away on July 13, 2010. Boyd was a member of the V.F.W. #9367 of Grafton. He is survived by his sons: Dennis Peterson, Rockville, MN; Kevin Peterson, Beaverton, OR and Wayne (Virginia) Peterson, Clear Lake, MN; two grandchildren: Angela and Eric Peterson and his brother, Lloyd (Lois) Peterson, Grand Forks, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Arvil and James "Art" Peterson and sister, Muriel Biri. Funeral services will be Monday, April 1, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at the Bethel Free Lutheran Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Grafton Lutheran Cemetery. Military rites will be provided the Grafton American Legion Post #41 and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
