Bonnie Louise Hayes, 75, of Edinburg passed away on June 9, 2017 in Brookfield, WI.

Bonnie Berg was born May 27 1942 in Edinburg, ND the daughter of the late George and Myrtle Berg. She grew up and attended school there. After graduation, she attended Concordia College and went on to hold a position at the Walsh County ASCS(Farm Service Agency) office in Park River, retiring as the Executive Director after serving over 30 years. She went on to work for Country Realty and the Walsh County Abstract Company for several years. She and her husband Daniel James Hayes were married on August 25th, 1963 at Garfield Church, also known to be the last wedding in the church, it held a special place in both of their hearts and they talked of it often. Along with her job duties at the ASCS Office, Bonnie was also an active contributor to the community and Church Council President of Trinity Lutheran Church. They also had a small farming operation that she would help with the farming duties as well as cook entire meals from scratch all while keeping a smile on her face and a calm demeanor. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, baking, playing piano, and playing music in the Second Wind Band with Dan. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing rounds of golf with Dan, her brother, George and sister in law, Patti. Bonnie is survived by her sons Patrick (Nicole) Hayes, Brookfield, WI and Jonathan (Kari) Hayes, Minot ND. She is the proud grandmother to Elianna, Catalina Hayes, Bryce, Evan, and Lucas Hayes (New Salem, ND); Brett, Kayla and Abbey Schaefer.  Bonnie is also survived by her brother George (Patti) Berg, Grand Forks ND and sisters Patty (Ron) Roche, Fargo ND and Glenda Bjornson, Macomb Township, MI, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Daniel Hayes, her parents, George & Myrtle Berg and her grandparents. Memorial services will be Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Edinburg, ND. Visitation will be Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at Garfield Lutheran Cemetery. Please join the family for a lunch following the inurnment back at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or charity of one's choice.
