Blanche E Swartz

Blanche E. Swartz, age 99 of Lankin, ND passed away on August 16, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center of Park River. Blanche E. Machovsky was born November 7, 1912 in Lankin, ND the daughter of the late Charles and Bessie (Ziska) Machovsky. She attended school in Lankin. Blanche was united in marriage to Joseph S. Swartz on October 26, 1929 in Grafton, ND. The couple lived and farmed west of Lankin. Blanche worked on the farm milking cows and feeding a large threshing crew during harvest. Blanche always did her baking on Saturday's, making Kolache, bread, poppy seed rolls and cookies for the week. She is survived by her sons: Duane Swartz, Grafton, ND; Gordon (Kay) Swartz, Mt. Vernon, IN; Gary (Kaye) Swartz, Lankin, ND; sister Marge Machart, Lankin, ND; 7 grandchildren, 11great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe, son Dale, daughters-in-law Alexa and Sylvia; granddaughters: Diane Goodien and Gayle Swartz , grandson Troy Swartz and two brothers: Julius and Ernest. Memorial Mass will be Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Lankin. Visitation will be Thursday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
