Blanche L. Fisher

Blanche C. Fisher, age 96 of Grafton, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Blanche C. Nicholson Fisher was born on April 4, 1915, the daughter of the late Richard and Frances (Kerslack) Switzer on the family farm in Hamilton, ND. She grew up and attended schools there, graduating from the Hamilton high school. On October 23, 1935, she married Clifford N. Nicholson at Bathgate, ND. They lived in Vancouver, WA for awhile, and then in 1941 they moved to Bowesmont, ND where they bought a farm and started farming. They farmed until 1974 when Cliff was diagnosed with cancer and passed away. On September 30, 1989, Blanche married Wilfred Fisher. Wilfred passed away on November 23, 2001. She was a member of the Federated Church of Grafton. Blanche is survived by her sons: Norman Nicholson, Fargo, ND and Gerald (Lynette) Nicholson, Beaverton, OR, daughters: Goldie (Harvey) Johnson, Kennedy, MN, Leola (Tom) Anderson-Rouso, Callaway, MN, and Bonnie (Dennis) Danielson, Lake Havasu, AZ, sister Ethel Hanson, and sister-in-law Lola Switzer, Mesa, AZ. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, daughter Janice Nicholson, brothers: Harold, George, Ray, and Fred, and sisters: Pearl, Olive, Ruth, Myrtle, and Edith. Funeral Services will be Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Federated Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-6, with a prayer service at 6:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Bowesmont City Cemetery, Bowesmont, ND.
