Betty J. Peterson

Betty Joan Peterson, age 68 of Rockville, MN and formerly of Grafton went to meet her Savior on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital of St. Cloud, MN. Betty Joan Brooks was born September 2, 1941near Bathgate, ND the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Brooks) Brooks. She grew up in the Hamilton area and graduated from the Hamilton High School in 1959. She was united in marriage to Boyd Peterson on May 1, 1960 in Hamilton. Betty worked various jobs in the Grafton area. She was very involved with her church, teaching Sunday school for many years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed camping, sewing, quilting, baking and craft work. Betty was a compassionate caregiver and devoted, loving mother and grandmother. She was a devout Christian and disciple of spreading the Gospel. The love she had for Christ was displayed in her deep devotion to her family and friends. Betty is survived by her loving husband Boyd of Rockville, MN; her sons: Dennis Peterson, Anoka, MN; Kevin Peterson, Beaverton, OR; and Wayne (Virginia) Peterson, Clear Lake, MN; two grandchildren: Angela Peterson, Fridley, MN; and Eric Peterson, St. Cloud, MN; her sisters: Anita Westrup, Bardstown, KY; Sarah Brooks, Walhalla, ND; brothers: Thomas Brooks, Buffalo, MN; Alden (Kathy) Brooks, Hamilton, ND; Ron Brooks, Winthrup, MN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be Monday, July 19, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bethel Free Lutheran church of Grafton. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at a later date.
