Bernice L. Ringsak

Bernice L. Ringsak, age 94 of Grafton, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Bernice L. Gullickson was born November 23, 1918 on the family farm southeast of Hoople, ND, the youngest child of Gullick and Margit (Brubakken) Gullickson. She attended and graduated from Hoople High School in 1936. She then attended and graduated from New York Hairstyling Academy in Fargo. She owned and operated the Hoople Beauty Shop until 1950. On September 2, 1950 she was united in marriage to Walter M. Ringsak at Hoople Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in Grafton. Walter passed away December 28, 1984. She then worked at S&L Department Store for over 25 years after retiring she worked at Second Time Around until she was 83 years old. She moved to the Lutheran Sunset apartments in 2004 and moved into the Lutheran Sunset Home in 2010. She was a member of the Grafton Lutheran Church and WELCA. She is survived by her children: Marnell (Nancy) Ringsak, Bismarck, ND; Luann Ringsak, Grafton, ND; grandchildren: Kate Ringsak, Minneapolis, MN; Laura Ringsak, Grand Forks, ND; Erik Ringsak, Fargo, ND; sister-in-law: Lyla Gullickson, Mountain, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter, three infant brothers, brothers: Ole and Leonard; and sisters: Helga Erlandson and Gladys Oberg. Memorial services will be Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 2:30 P.M. at the Grafton Lutheran Church. Friends may call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at the Grafton Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Grafton Lutheran Church.
