Bernice E. Houser

Bernice E. Houser, age 90 of Park River, ND passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at the Park River Good Samaritan Center. Bernice Emma Edwards was born August 12, 1924 in Park River, ND the daughter of the late William and Albina Edwards. She attended school in Park River. She was united in marriage to Augustine S. Houser on November 9, 1939 in Grafton, ND. The couple lived and farmed near Park River and she helped her husband on the farm until his death. She later helped her son David on the farm when he needed help. Bernice also worked at Larson Brother Farms for 40 years. She was very active at St. Mary's Catholic Church and Altar Society. She was also a member of the Park River American Legion Auxiliary and the First Care Hospital Auxiliary. She loved to sew and made many quilts for her family. She enjoyed working in her yard and cooking for her family. Bernice is survived by her children: Ruby (Dennis) Nimrick, New Windsor, IL; Lorraine (Allan) Burger, Grand Forks, ND; sister, Margaret (Elmer) Robinson, Thompson, ND; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons: Robert, Marvin and David, grandson, David Houser, and brothers: Wallace and Leonard. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 5, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Park River, ND. Visitation will be Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Park River, ND.
