Bernard F. Novak, age 84 of Grafton, ND passed away on Thursday, September 05, 2013 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Bernard Novak was born September 29, 1928 in Lankin, ND, the son of the late Frank and Rose (Greicar) Novak. He grew up and attended rural school in Medford Township. He was united in marriage to Margie Houska on June 23, 1953 at St. Luke's Catholic Church of Veseleyville, ND. The couple lived and farmed near Lankin. In 1962, they moved to Grafton where he was employed by Borden's until they closed. He then worked at the Grafton Developmental Center until his retirement. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, antique auction sales, and going for rides. He is survived by his wife Margie of Grafton, children: Bonnie Novak, Grafton, ND, Dale (Twila) Novak, Grafton, ND, Marvin Novak, Grand Forks, ND, 6 grandchildren, sisters: Jeannie (Arnie) Freije, Warroad, MN, and Judy (George) Fuller, Mandan, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Dorothy Franson and Edith Kovarik, and infant sister Elaine Novak. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 2:30 P.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the church. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Grafton, ND.
