Barbara Lucy Jarolimek

Barbara Lucy Jarolimek 103 died Wednesday November 6, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Center of Park River, North Dakota.

Barbara Lucy Wavrik was born July 19, 1916 in Rushford Township of Walsh County, the daughter of Michael Wavrik and Barbara (Zidon) Wavrik.  She received her education in Pisek, North Dakota and married Steve A. Jarolimek on June 21, 1943 at St. John’s Catholic Church of Pisek. They resided on the family farm, rural Forest River, until 1984 when they moved to Pisek.

Barbara lived her life based on two principles, love of her family and dedication and service to her Catholic faith. Her heart was full of her family and her vision was always toward heaven. She had an amazing gift for baking and was renown for beautiful and delicious bread, rolls and kolache’ and her amazing ice water cake.  Barbara was an active member of St. Luke’s Altar Society.

She was an avid gardener, raising amazing vegetables for her family and beautiful flowers to adorn her home. Barbara was particularly gifted in growing African violets.

Barbara leaves behind a legacy of compassion for all people, a love of prayer and dedication to the Virgin Mary and a deep and abiding respect for her Catholic faith.

Barbara is survived by her six children:  Barbara Ann (Eugene) Kachena, Pisek, ND; Delores Dub, Pisek, ND; Audrey (Rodney) Kadlec, Pisek, ND; MaryLou (Frank) Miller, Clarkfield MN;  Steve (Bonnie) Jarolimek, Forest River, ND; Debbie (Keith) Berg, Park River, ND; 22 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Steve, her son-in-law Dan Dub, her parents and three brothers, Mike, Stanley and Rudlof.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, November 11, 2019 at 3:00 P.M. at the St. Luke’s Catholic Church of Veseleyville, ND.  Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River.  Friends may call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service.  Inurnment will be at the St. Luke’s Catholic Cemetery of Veseleyville, ND.
