Audrey R. Lee

Audrey R. Lee, age 74 of rural Hoople, ND passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at her home near Hoople.

Audrey R. Foerster was born November 1, 1941 in Grafton, ND the daughter of the late Frank and Eugenia (Houska) Foerster. She attended schools in Conway and Fordville, North Dakota. Following her education, Audrey worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Ansgar’s Hospital in Park River. Audrey was united in marriage to Richard Lee on July 25, 1963 in Park River, ND. The couple lived and farmed near Hoople. Audrey worked at Walsh County Social Services and did foster parenting. She also worked at the Bakery in Park River and had the café at the Sales Barn in Park River. The couple lived in Arizona from 1987-1995 where Audrey worked for Child Protective Services. They returned to the farm near Hoople in 1997. She worked at Amundrud’s Café in Edinburg until they closed.

Audrey was a member of Park Center Lutheran Church, rural Hoople, ND where she served as treasurer. She was active in the Ladies Aid groups at both Park Center and Grace Free Lutheran in Edinburg. She was an avid quilter with the Grace Free Ladies and she was a 4-H leader for many years.

Audrey is survived by her husband, Richard, Hoople, ND; her children: Jody (Wanda) Lee, Hoople, ND and Sharon (Mike) Tolliver, Cody, NE; four grandchildren: Darin and Robyn Lee and Mikayla and Jared Tolliver, three step-grandchildren: Kenny Johnson, Brittiany Knudson and Ashley Dominguez, two step great grandchildren and her sisters: Yvonne Linstad, Fordville, ND; Marideth (Wayne) Thorvilson, Gilby, ND; Ardith (Jim) Rostvet, Ramona, CA; Candice (Kenny) Henry, East Grand Forks, MN; Rosemary (Lynn) Larson, Fordville, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Donny, Donny and Francis.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 18, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Park Center Lutheran Church of rural Hoople. Visitation will be Friday for one hour prior to the service.
