Arturo Villarreal

Arturo Villarreal, age 58 of Grafton, ND passed away at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND with his family by his side.

Arturo was born January 6, 1967 to the late Daniel Villarreal, Jr. and Maria Susana (Mendoza) Villarreal in Laredo, TX.  His family moved to North Dakota and he was educated in the Forest River and Veseleyville areas.  After his education he began working in agriculture for Campbell Farms. He began working for Marvin Windows, where he was still an employee 25 years later.

Arturo loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  They loved taking trips to Medora, Jamestown, Fargo, and Bismarck. When he wasn’t spoiling his family, he was watching WWE or basketball, and recently enjoyed watching movies and novelas.  If you were close to Art, then you were familiar with his jokes, pranks, and lectures.

Arturo is survived by his mother Susana Villarreal, Perham, MN; wife Tammy Villarreal, Walhalla; children: Anthony Villarreal, Grafton, ND and LaTasha Villarreal, Walhalla, ND; six grandchildren; stepdaughters: Kristin Sapa, Cavalier, ND and Jessica Cook, Cavalier, ND; four step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; and siblings: Gloria Merkins, Perham, MN, Juanita (Ernesto) Parra, Laredo, TX, and Daniel (Angie) Villarreal III, Fargo, ND, and several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father Daniel, infant brother Danny, brother-in-law John Merkins, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
