Archie M. Bina, age 94 of Grafton, ND passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton.
Archie M. Bina was born June 5, 1922 in Sauter Township of Walsh County, ND the son of the late Frank P. and Marion (Paukert) Bina. He attended rural school in Sauter Twp. Following his education he started working on the family farm. He was drafted into the United States Army and served from April of 1945 to December of 1946 in Japan. Following his discharge he returned home and continued to farm. Archie was united in marriage to Ruth Cihlar on June 11, 1947 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lankin. The couple lived and farmed in Sauter Twp. until moving to Grafton in 1971. Archie worked as a living unit supervisor at the Grafton Developmental Center from 1971-1988 when he retired.
He was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Grafton American Legion and a 75 year member of the Kosobud Hall near Lankin, ND.
He is survived by his daughters: Kay (Jim) Wilebski, Grafton, ND; Carol Bina, Grafton, ND; a grandson, Kyle Wilebski (Angela Miller), Indianapolis, IN; three nieces and two nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Archie was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth on June 5, 2012, brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Jean Bina.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Thursday from 9-10:30 A.M. with a vigil service at 9:00 AM at St. John’s Catholic Church. Military rites will be provided by the Grafton American Legion and the North Dakota National Guard. Interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
