Ann M. Hodny

Ann M. Hodny, age 62 of Grafton, ND passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND. Ann M. Skaflen was born September 8, 1947 in Grafton, ND the daughter of Herman and Orpha (Knudtson) Skaflen. She graduated from Grafton High School in 1965 and later worked as a court stenographer for Judge O'Keefe. Ann was united in marriage to Henry Hodny on October 20,1979 in Grafton, ND. The couple made their home in Grafton and she worked as a personal loan officer for First American Bank in Grafton until 1988. Ann was a member of the Grafton Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband Henry, Grafton, ND; children: Amy (Todd) Flicek, Bismarck, ND; Liane (Jason) Johnston, East Grand Forks, MN; Jay Hodny (Kristin Rourke), East Grand Forks, MN; six grandchildren: Katie, Alex and T.J. Flicek, Callie Johnston, Cole Hodny and Tal Halliday, with two more due in December; her mother Orpha Castle, Minto, ND: siblings: Rick (Betty) Skaflen, Wheatridge, CO; Rodney (Eileen) Skaflen, Fort Collins, CO; Gay (Ron) Riskey, Minto, ND; Dean (Peggy) Skaflen, Harwood, ND; her special aunt, Bobby Knutson, Grafton, ND; special cousin Leigh Knutson, Fargo, ND; her mother-in-law: Helen Hodny, Lankin, ND; brother-in- law: Charles (Karen) Hodny, Grand Forks, ND. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her father Herman and father-in-law: Henry C. Hodny. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 3:30 PM at the Grafton Lutheran Church, Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Grafton Lutheran Cemetery.
