Angeline A. Kachena, age 87 of Park River, ND passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton.
Angeline A. Hodny was born June 5, 1930 in rural Lankin, ND, the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Mary V. (Drtina) Hodny. She attended rural school near Bechyne and worked on the family farm. Angeline was united in marriage to Frank C. Kachena on June 21, 1949 in Bechyne. The couple made their home in Grafton and Park River. She worked at Borden’s Potato Plant, ran Angie’s Café, and worked at Welch’s Café and Friendship. She retired and then took care of her son Frank. Her husband Frank C. passed away April 10, 1978. Angeline continued to make her home in Park River until the time of her death.
She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Angeline is survived by her children: Pat (Len) Novak, Fallbrook, CA; Debbie (Steve) Fontaine, Park River, ND; Laurie Loeffler, Grand Forks, ND; Ron (Deb) Kachena, Yankton, SD; Teresa (David) Erickson, Grafton, ND; Jenny (Tim) McDonald, Grafton; Greg Kachena, Park River, ND; Linda (Steve) Onstad, Grand Forks, ND; 22 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; sister, Marian Mayer, Grand Forks, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frank C.; son, Frank J.; daughter, Connie; two great grandchildren; sister, Delores Novak and brother, Leonard Hodny.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Park River. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at the Calvary Cemetery, Park River.
