Andy M. Biri

Andy M. Biri, age 85 of Grafton, peacefully joined his loving wife on Monday, September, 05, 2011 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton. Andy M. Biri was born May 20, 1926 in McIntosh, MN the son of the late John and Esther (Myhre) Biri. He grew up and attended school in Edmore. Following his education he served in the United States Army in the Korean War. Andy married Muriel Peterson on June 10, 1953 at the Park Center Parsonage. The couple made their home in Grafton where he worked as a salesman for Wilson Brothers, and later at Grafton Auto. He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Grafton, Grafton VFW Post #9367, and the Grafton American Legion Post #41. Andy enjoyed fishing, golfing, yard work, gardening, and traveling; family vacations were especially important to him. He is survived by his son Larry Biri, Grafton, ND; daughter Carol (Jim) Tallackson, Grafton, ND; grandchildren: Andrea (Donny) Riendeau; Amy (John) Suda; Katie (Ryer) Stark; Nathan (Christine) Tallackson; six great grandchildren; brothers: Fred Biri, Devils Lake, ND; Joe (Ann) Biri, Columbus, OH; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a sister. Funeral services will be Friday, September 9, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:30-7 P.M. with a prayer service at 7 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be at Grafton Lutheran Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Grafton American Legion Post #41 and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
