Amanda C. Askim, age 36 of Park River, ND, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.

Amanda C. Askim was born August 14, 1981 in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Arlyn and Veronica (Langowski) Askim. She graduated from Park River High School and attended Northland Community and Technical College, East Grand Forks, MN. She made her home in the Park River area and worked various jobs in the community.

She was a member of the Lankin Legion Auxiliary. She loved her boys and together they enjoyed nature, hunting and looking for deer sheds. She was witty and funny. She loved to sew, farm and had a keen eye for antiques and restoring them. Her faith in Jesus was her most valuable asset. Her love of cooking started at age three, her Grandma Irene Askim was her greatest mentor.

Amanda is survived by her sons: Drew Lien, Grafton, ND and his father Ryan Lien, Park River, ND; Gunnar Kalgard and his father Kory Kalgard; parents, Arlyn and Veronica Askim all of Park River, ND; brothers: Ryan Askim; Curtis and Ashley Askim and niece, Lily Askim, all of Lankin, ND; Godparents: Maurel and Sylvia Mattson, West Fargo, ND; Gary and LeNae Askim, Park River, ND. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and nephew, Liam Askim.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 2:30 – 3:30 P.M. with a prayer service at 3:30 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Victory Free Lutheran Church of Park River, ND. Friends may also call at the church on Monday from 10:00 – 10:45 A.M. Interment will be held on Monday at 1:45 P.M. at Hoff Lutheran Cemetery, rural Adams, ND.
