Alma Gallagher

Alma Gallagher, age 99 of Grafton, ND passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Alma Samson was born March 18, 1910 in Oakwood, ND the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (LaBerge) Samson. She graduated from Grafton High School and Valley City State Teachers College. Alma married Bernard Gallagher on June 14, 1937 in Oakwood, The couple lived near Cashel until 1996 when they moved to Grafton. They had one son, Terry. Alma was a homemaker and teacher. She taught at several country schools and later at the St. Aloysius Academy in Oakwood. She also taught at the Migrant School in Grafton.

Alma was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Oakwood, ND and the St. John's Catholic Church of Grafton.

She is survived by her son Terry (Carol) Gallagher, Tumwater, WA; four grandchildren: Shane, Kristi, Darcy and Ron and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernard on Aug. 4, 1998, five brothers and three sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 22, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Friday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Oakwood.

The Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton is in charge of the arrangements.
