Alma G. Collette, age 96 of Grafton, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton.
Alma Gertrude Sevigny was born February 24, 1922 in Oakwood, ND, the daughter of the late Edward and Emma (Demers) Sevigny. She graduated from St. Aloysius Academy in 1940. She was her grandparent’s housekeeper during WWII. Alma was united in marriage to Louis Collette on May 1, 1946 in Oakwood, ND. The couple lived and farmed near Cashel, ND. They moved to Cashel in 1962. After their retirement in 1991, the couple moved to Grafton. Louis passed away in October, 1995. Alma moved to Leisure Estates in 2014 and the Lutheran Sunset Home in 2018.
She was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Oakwood, the Sacred Heart Altar Society and Choir and the American Legion Auxiliary. Alma enjoyed embroidery and crocheting, as well as, taking trips to the casino.
Alma is survived by her son, Dean Collette, Grafton, ND; siblings: Daniel (Louise) Sevigny, Grafton, ND; Flora Pilon, Grafton, ND; Orell (JoAnn) Sevigny, Oakwood, ND. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Rosalie Lessard, brothers: Victorian and Eugene.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Thursday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Oakwood, ND.
