Allen J. Heaney

Allen J. Heaney, age 75 of Grafton, ND passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Allen James Heaney was born February 5, 1934 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Alvin C. and Ruth (Moch) Heaney. He graduated from High School in Marengo, IL. Allen was united in marriage to Doris Gramlich on July 27, 1957. He attended nurses training at a hospital in Springfield, IL. Following his education he worked as a Registered Nurse throughout Illinois. He moved to Grafton in 1972 and started working as a Registered Nurse at the Grafton Developmental Center. He also worked part-time at the Strand Theater. He later worked at the Jamestown State Hospital and the Ashley Medical Center. He retired in 2002 and returned to Grafton. He was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Allen is survived by his children: Mary (Gerald) Schnellbach, Grafton, ND; Theresa Otto, Grafton, ND; Patricia (Peter) Stoute, Grand Forks, ND; Christopher (Lynette) Heaney, Jamestown, ND; Tony Heaney, Minneapolis, MN; six grandchildren and brother Kenny Heaney, Muskegon, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents.
