Allen I. Gilleshammer

Allen I. Gilleshammer, age 85 of Grafton, ND passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton. Allen I. Gilleshammer was born May 14, 1926 in Teien County, MN, the son of the late Peter and May (Olsen) Gilleshammer. He and his family moved to rural Grafton he attended grade school in District #22 and high school in Grafton. He farmed in the Grafton - St. Thomas area starting at a very young age (17). He was united in marriage to June Romine in Rugby, ND in 1949. He retired in 1982. He was a member of the Grafton Lutheran Church. He served as president of the Grafton Curling Club, president of Nash Grain and Trading Co. He was an avid hunter and he loved his boat and to fish. Allen is survived by his wife, June; sons: Keith (Jill) Gilleshammer, Fargo, ND; Jay Gilleshammer, Minneapolis, MN; daughter: Julie Gillis, Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren: Vanessa Noce, Christin Munchoff, Jace Gilleshammer, Michael Eoloff, Sara Eoloff, and Ann Eoloff; great grandchildren: Anthony and Olivia; brothers: Orvil (Joy) Gilleshammer, Grafton, ND; Glenn (Loretta) Gilleshammer, Grafton, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kathleen, sisters: Joyce Pede, Betty Jean Heisler, Thelma Anderson and Gladys Rutherford. Memorial services will be Monday, June 20, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Grafton Lutheran Church, Grafton, ND. Friends may call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Grafton Lutheran Cemetery.
