Allen J.K. Dahl

Allen J.K. Dahl, age 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Park River, ND on Friday, November 14, 2014. Allen J. Kenneth Dahl was born on January 29, 1936, the son of Robert K. and Hulda Dahl on the family farm in Vesta Township. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church. He attended the Walsh County Agricultural School (W.C.A.S.) in Park River, ND graduating in 1954. He attended Mayville State College receiving his degree in education and continued graduate studies at the University of North Dakota. He taught schools in Drayton, ND and Grafton, ND. He served in the United States Army and was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, and Ft. Carson, CO. On June 21, 1959, Allen was united in marriage to Charlotte Black of Bowesmont, ND. He married Mae Restemayer, Hoople, ND on September 14, 1990. Allen lived and farmed in the Park River area throughout his life. He was proud of his farm and in 1977, was awarded the North Dakota Soil Conservation Achievement Award for western Walsh County. Allen enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and Minnesota Twins baseball. He was a member of the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Park River and the Grafton American Legion. Loving family members who survive are daughters: Su Ellen (Michael) Okeson, Adams, ND; and Cindy (Kevin) Danielson, Grand Forks, ND; four grandchildren: Kaitlyn Danielson, Jordyn Danielson, Heather Okeson and Ethan Okeson; his brother , Bob (Phyllis) Dahl, Devils Lake, ND, and sisters Helen (Jim) Hodgson, Billings, MT and Jeanne (Dick) Lasch, Circle Pines, MN, as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Park River. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery of rural Park River.
