Allan D Sitzer

June 29, 1986 — July 27, 2017

Allan Dexter Sitzer, age 31 of Minto, ND passed on to his eternal hunting and fishing grounds on Thursday, July 27, 2017 in Minto.

Allan was born June 29, 1986 in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Dexter Sitzer and Patricia (Mattern) Einarson. He grew up and attended school in Minto, graduating in 2005. After high school he attended UND where he studied Industrial Technology. Following his education, he returned to Minto and began working with his Father and Brother at Harriston Industries as a Production Manager. Allan met his best friend and love of his life Sherry Pederson as a young kid, and finally made her his wife on July 9, 2016 at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of East Grand Forks, MN. They made their home in Minto with their dogs Quinn and Ace.

He was a member of the Knox Presbyterian Church of Minto, the Minto Park Board and the Minto J.C.’s. He loved playing in several different softball leagues. He was very passionate about hunting and helped his little sister and Sherry bag their first bucks . Allan did a lot of filming of hunts with his sister and other hunting buddies. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed all outdoor activities with his wife Sherry. He was a diehard Minnesota Vikings and Fighting Sioux fan.

Allan touched many people’s lives in Minto and the surrounding communities, where he had many friends. He loved helping his community and was very passionate about everything he did. Wherever “Albin” was there was laughter and fun. Clowning around was one of his specialties. He was especially fond of his nieces and nephews and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved children and had planned on having a family of his own with Sherry. He shared his beautiful voice and amazing soul with many.

Allan’s quick wit and fantastic smile will be missed by his wife Sherry Sitzer, parents: Dexter Sitzer and Pat Einarson, brother Thomas (Tina) Sitzer and sister Samantha Sitzer, all of Minto, ND, mother and father-in-law Bill (Annette) Pederson, East Grand Forks, MN, brothers-in-law: Billy (Faye) Pederson, Grand Forks, ND and Derek Pederson, East Grand Forks, MN, nieces and nephews: Trenton and Macy Sitzer and Christie Johnson, Kayla, McKenzie and Ryan Salyers, and Billy Pederson, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. He went on to his eternal life to be with his paternal grandparents Allan and Ruth Sitzer, and maternal grandparents Frank Mattern and beloved grandmother Hermina Mattern, uncle Thomas Mattern, and cousin Jessika Erickson.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 31, 2017 at 2:30 P.M. at the Minto Community Center. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 with a prayer service at 5:00 P.M. at the Community Center. Friends may also call at the Community Center for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Minto City Cemetery.
