Alice L. Olson, age 89 of Apopka, Florida and formerly of Adams, ND passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2009 in Apopka, FL at the home of her daughter with her family at her side. Alice L. Thompson was born March 14, 1920 in Adams, ND to Louis and Tilda (Bakke) Thompson. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in the area. She married Ted Olson on November 1, 1939. The couple lived on a farm near Adams. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school, Bible school and was dedicated to work and worship in the church. In 1960 she and Ted moved to Minneapolis, MN where she was employed at the Ebenezer Home and was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. When Ted retired in 1970 they moved to Eau Claire, WI. She was employed by the Midlefort Clinic until retiring in 1984. While in Wisconsin she was an active member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church. In 2001 she moved to Apopka, Florida to live with her daughter and son-in-law for health reasons. Alice was a wonderful Christian wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was always there with love, encouragement and advice. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include a daughter Sandra (Ron) Robertson, Apopka, FL; a son Rev. Richard "Dick" (Deana) Olson, Fairbanks, AK; two grandchildren: Michael (Sara) Robertson, Orlando, FL; and Reba (Kevin) Fansler, North Pole, AK; five great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 62 years, Ted, and four brothers: Leonard, Edwin Allen Thompson and Tilford Blecken. Funeral services will be Monday, July 20, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Mountain Lutheran Church of Adams, ND. Visitation will be Monday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Hitterdahl Lutheran Cemetery near Adams, ND.
