Alice L. Gire

Alice L. Gire, 91 of Grafton, ND passed away on Monday, November 07, 2011 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton, ND. Alice L. Carlson was born November 9, 1919 in rural St. Thomas, ND the daughter of the late Charles and Sara (Osterlund) Carlson. She grew up and attended schools in Grafton, ND. Following her education she worked as a sales clerk for the Ben Franklin Store. Alice was united in marriage to Robert Gire on January 23, 1955 in Warren, MN. The couple made their home in Grafton. Robert passed away on April 6, 2004. She moved to the Lutheran Sunset Home in October of 2011. Alice was a member of Grafton Lutheran Church and WELCA. She is survived by her son Tim (Teresa) Gire, Park River, ND; two grandsons: Andrew (Krystle) Gire and Dustin Gire, both Park River, ND; two great grandchildren: Zayah and Drake Gire, Park River, ND; sister Millie Antrobus, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, two sisters, 2 half-brothers and 2 half-sisters. Funeral services will be Friday, November 11, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Grafton Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Friday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Grafton Lutheran Cemetery.
