Albert C. "Chuck" Hanson, age 70 of Cascade Locks, OR and formerly of Fairdale, ND, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the Marquis Care Facility of Wilsonville, OR. Albert C. Hanson, the son of the late Hans and Alice (Watne) Hanson-Amundrud, was born November 4, 1942 in Grafton, ND. He grew up and attended school in Fairdale, graduating from Fairdale High School in 1960. After graduation, he attended NDSSS in Wahpeton for a year. He enlisted in the Army in 1963 and served in France during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge, he returned to North Dakota and began working at the Grand Forks Air Force Base. He later worked at the Par Site in Nekoma until 1974 when he moved to Oregon and began working at the Bonneville Dam with the Corps of Engineers. He retired in 1996. He was a former member of the Fairdale American Legion. Chuck was known for his sense of humor and pranks and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his sisters: Carol (Myrlin) Troftgruben, Adams, ND, Mary (Howard Dean) Freije, Grand Forks, ND, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers: Bill and Jerry. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church of Fairdale. Interment will be at St. Olaf Cemetery. Military rights will be provided by the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
